Breaking Bad is a dark emotional comedy which was premiered on the AMC Network on 20^th January 2008. The first episode was called Pilot. Season 1 was supposed to air a total of nine episodes; however, due to the strike of the Writers Guild of America, only seven episodes could be filmed. The Pilot episode introduces Walter White, a middle aged chemistry teacher, who is diagnosed with Stage III Lung Cancer. He has a wife, Skyler who is pregnant and a handicapped son named Walter White Jr. In order to ensure financial security for his family, after his death, he starts preparing a drug named meth. In this world of crime he is joined by his ex-student Jesse. However, when Jesse tries to sell the Crystal meth to two drug dealers, they threaten Walter with his life, unless he shows them how he prepares the meth. The two dealers are gassed by Walter but, one of the dealers named Krazy-8 survives. Presently, Skyler grows suspicious about Walters dealings. On the other side an argument breaks up between Jessie and Walter as a result of which Walter is left alone to deal with Krazy-8. Walter strangulates Krazy-8.

Meanwhile, Marie, who is Walter’s sister-in-law, is concerned about Walter Jr. taking cannabis and her husband Hank, tells her about the dangers of using drugs. Hank works for DEA and is on the lookout for the new meth dealer. Walter tells Hank and Marie about his Cancer. Jesse goes to visit his parents. Later Walter attends an old colleague’s party with his wife. Jesse tries to break free of drugs. Slowly the effects of radiation therapy become apparent in Walter. He Walter and Jesse reach a compromise according to which, Walter prepares the meth and Jesse sells it. Walter and Jesse are introduced to a new buyer named Tuco. After attending a PTA meet, Walter admits that he is now a drug lord. Jesse wants to sell his Aunts house. Meanwhile, Skyler gets a baby shower arranged by her sister Marie. The season’s final episode was aired on 9^th March 2008 and it was named A No-Rough-Stuff Type Deal.

Seasons Top Ranked Episode – Crazy Handful of Nothin’

This was the season’s most highly rated episode. In this episode the side effects of radiation therapy become more and more visible in Walter. He again starts preparing meth. Meanwhile, one of Jesse’s friends named Skinny Pete introduces him to Tuco. Tuco a drug distributor is known to be a violent man. Things do not go smoothly between Jesse and Tuco as a result of which Jesse ends up in a hospital in a very bad shape.
